How should I use different types of event documentation?
In TeachBoost Coach, there are a couple of different ways to document the details of an event depending on what you want to do.
Here's a list of the different types of event documentation you can utilize depending on your needs:
Event Descriptions
Event cards for Meetings, Classroom Visits, and Other Coaching Responsibilities all contain a section titled 'Meeting Details' where you can include your event's description. This specific area can be used to record meeting agendas, classroom look-fors, and other general details to remind you of what you plan to do in the event.
The event description can be added when the event is first created or it can be added later as needed.
If you want to find the description in the future, simply click on the event in your TeachBoost calendar or your external calendar.
Alternatively, the description can accessed from a Teacher's profile by clicking 'View' on any event.
Event Notes
You can record in-the-moment interactions such as meeting minutes, classroom scripting, summary notes, or general feedback within your event notes!
There are a couple of ways to add event notes to your Meetings, Classroom Visits, or Other Coaching Responsibilities:
- From your Calendar, click on the event, and then select the blue 'View Notes' tab
- From your Dashboard, click on the event under 'Last Activity' or 'Next Up' columns - if the event is recent
- From the Teacher's Profile, find the event in the timeline and add your notes in the 'Event Notes' section
Event notes can be accessed at any time from your calendar, dashboard, or teacher's profile.
Write a Note
If you need to write up some general notes about a teacher that aren't associated with a specific event, then you might want to utilize the 'Write a Note' feature.
To write a note from the Dashboard or Teacher's profile, click "Add Activity", then 'Write a Note'.
You will have the option to share it with a teacher or check the box under 'Privacy' to make this note only visible to you!
To find your note in the future, navigate to the Teacher's Profile and it will appear in the timeline on the date it was created.
Pro-tip: From the Teacher's Profile page you can select "Filter" at the top, then Activity Types > Notes to quickly see all your notes attached to the teacher.
Write a Private Note
Another way to write a note so that it's only visible to you is by writing a Private Note. This is a great option for any details you want to record for yourself but don't want the teacher to see.
To create this, head to the Teacher's Profile and click +Private Note or from the Event Notes page, click Add Activity > Write a Private Note.
The private note will appear directly on an event card from the Teacher's Profile page.
