Events that are part of a recurring series
On your calendar in the app, you see the following message at the top of an event window:
This activity is a recurring event
What this means
This means your selected activity is part of a recurring series of events that was created in an external calendar and is showing in your TeachBoost Coach calendar to help you manage your day-to-day work.
Recurring events that meet our auto-sync criteria will be automatically imported into TeachBoost Coach. Otherwise, you can use our manual-import functionality to import an event as a ‘Meeting’, ‘Classroom Visit’, or 'Other Coaching Responsibility'. Once a single event in the series has been manually imported by you, then the rest in the series will auto-import the next time a sync is run between TeachBoost and your external calendar.
Editing or deleting events in a recurring series
If you need to edit the details for either a single or multiple events in the same series (i.e. attendees, time/date, description), we’d recommend that you do this in your external calendar, whether it’s Google or Outlook. Making these changes in your external calendar instead gives you more control over which events in the series are updated with the changes (e.g. just ‘this event’ or ‘this event and following’).
The changes you make to attendees, scheduling, and description in your external calendar will be updated in your TeachBoost calendar.
Note: There may be a short delay between a full sync while the two calendars work out how to sync correctly.
We also recommend deleting events in a recurring series from your external calendar to give you the most control over which specific events in the series are deleted. If there are any Meeting or Visit notes, or other additional updates in the TeachBoost Coach app that have been made to an event within a recurring series, this event will not be automatically deleted from the app when deleted from your external calendar—instead, the event will be prefixed with 'Canceled:' in the Coach calendar to preserve your notes/updates and give you the opportunity to review them before deleting the event.
